Voices of Integrity Award –
One America Movement (April 26, 2026)
I am deeply honored to have received the Voices of Integrity Award from the One America Movement at their national gathering in Chicago. This award recognizes efforts to confront toxic polarization through the work of faith communities.
Pictured here is Michael Brough, the Catholic Engagement Consultant for One America, who presented the award to me.
Caption of Award: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God."
In August, Paulist Press will publish my new book on polarization,
Towards a More Perfect Communion:
Catholic Wisdom for a Polarized Age.
Drawing from Catholic theological, social, and pastoral traditions, Ricky Manalo offers a timely vision for healing the intertwined crises of polarization in the U.S. Church and American civic life. Rather than treating ecclesial and political division as separate problems, Toward a More Perfect Communion approaches them as one shared spiritual and cultural wound.
With attention to Catholic social teaching, sacramental imagination, and civic dialogue, Manalo invites pastoral leaders, educators, ministers, and bridge-builders to rediscover communion as both a gift and a responsibility. This book offers not only an analysis of polarization, but a hopeful path toward deeper listening, renewed belonging, and a more just and compassionate common life.
Antiqua et Nova,
the Vatican document that preceded Pope Leo XIV's
encyclical on AI, Magnifica Humanitas

Paulist Press has published an edition of Antiqua et Nova (Ancient and New), the Vatican’s important document on artificial intelligence, which preceded Pope Leo XIV’s timely encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas. I am deeply grateful to have written the introduction for this book edition.
This work has grown out of my ongoing engagement with AI and the Church’s response to emerging technologies, and it has led me into many conversations at the intersection of faith and technology. On October 24, 2024, I had the honor of participating in a panel at a Vatican AI forum.
